Lovely hotel beautiful and clean staff was very pleasant would definitely use this hotel again close to shops bars and restaurants within walking distance
This is a wonderful historic hotel surrounded by restaurants and close to shopping. Had a 24 hour layover and was able to enjoy English hospitality and the Brewery Shades pub across the square. An excellent alternative to airport hotels. Clean, comfortable, pleasant, interesting, and reasonably priced.
Clean modern room. Was booked in on the wrong day and guy on the desk couldn't have done more to help sort it out. Recommend
Good bits:Friendly nonsense staff. Rooms were alright - big, clean with a nice desk. The main areas of the hotel had "character". The view is hit or miss depending on the room. Pretty close to the airport. The area seems like it'd be nice in the summer.Not so good bits:You can hear a bit of noise from the street, other rooms and hallways. The shower/tub was small and slippery with a low flow showerhead. I know it's not uncommon here but the sink has those useless taps where there's a separate hot & cold.Conclusion:All and all it's a fine place to stay a night or two if you're waiting for a flight. Maybe for a vacation in the summer.
We stayed here for 1 night and amazed by the size of the room and the cleanliness of it. Also found it handy to have a shop and a take out place around the corner from hotel. Will definitely go back there.
